Möt Viktoriia

Möt de ukrainska dansarna och koreograferna Viktoriia Khoroshylova och Viktoriia Sliptsova som sedan hösten 2022 haft residens hos Skånes Dansteater. Vi bjuder in till ett intimt samtal om arbetsprocesser och projekt som de arbetat med samt visar ett kort utdrag ur verket TWO WALLS.
Samtalet kommer att hållas på engelska och alla är välkomna att ställa frågor. Vi är i dansstudion på Skånes Dansteater.

Vi kommer att visa ett utdrag ur verket TWO WALLS:
Den 24 februari 2022 omkullkastades deras liv när Ryssland påbörjade sitt invasionskrig av Ukraina. De flydde till Malmö i juni 2022. Duetten ”Two Walls” speglar deras personliga upplevelser av kriget, människors sökande efter trygghet, samhörighet och normalitet i högst onormala situationer.

Det är ett förkroppsligande att vara mitt i krigets verklighet, långt bort från avvägda politiska diskussioner i TV-studior och regeringskorridorer. I denna verklighet, kriget till trots, försöker man fortsätta att arbeta, handla mat i affären, tvätta håret och samla sin familj – bakom två väggar (Two Walls) som borde skydda dig när bomberna faller.

Om Viktoriia Khoroshylova
Viktoriia Khoroshylova är ukrainsk dansare och koreograf och hade residens hos Skånes Dansteater under 2022 och är aktuell med flera olika projekt i vår. Viktoriia arbetar bland annat med frågeställningar om det moderna ukrainska samhället kopplat till ekologisk belastning, överkonsumtion och förstörelse av arkitektoniskt arv. För närvarande arbetar hon med teman kopplade till kriget mellan Ryssland och Ukraina så som frihet, ansvar och förverkligandet av en människas kreativa potential. Hon är särskilt intresserad av tvärdisciplinära projekt som kombinerar poesi och fysisk teater, måleri och rörelse, koreografi och improvisation i olika rum (platsspecifika föreställningar).

Om Viktoriia Sliptsova
Dansare och danslärare (modern dans och balett, Kharkiv Regional Palace of Children and Youth Creativity). Hennes senaste arbete inkluderar koreografi för flera musikaler, som “The Chronicles of Narnia” på Baza, den största konserthallen i Charkiv. Sedan 2010 har hon arbetat som lärare och balettmästare i den nationella dansgruppen “Happy Childhood” med mer än 300 deltagare.

Förra året grundade hon ett danskompani som startade flertalet produktion i samarbete med många dansare, kostymörer och kompositörer. På grund av kriget tvingades danskompaniet stänga ned helt och alla planer ställas in.

Meet the Ukrainian dancers and choreographers Viktoriia Khoroshylova and Viktoriia Sliptsova who have been in residency at Skånes Dansteater since autumn 2022. We invite you to an intimate conversation about work processes and projects they worked on. We will also show a short excerpt from the work TWO WALLS.

The conversation will be held in English and everyone is welcome to ask questions. We are in the dance studio at Skånes Dansteater.

We will show an excerpt from the work TWO WALLS:
On February 24th their lives turned upside down when Russia launched a full-scale attack on Ukraine. They fled to Malmö in June 2022. The performance is a peak into a personal, human perception of war, into people’s search for safety, connection, and normality in highly abnormal circumstances.

It is a story of the reality in the middle of the war, away from rationalized political conversations in TV studios and governmental halls. The reality where you still try to do your work, shop some groceries, wash your hair, and gather your family – behind ’Two Walls’ that would keep you safe in the middle of bombings.

About Viktoriia Khoroshylova
Viktoriia Khoroshylova is a Ukranian dancer and choreographer who took up an artistic residency at Skånes Dansteater during 2022 and is currently working on several different projects this spring.

Viktoriia works among other things with issues regarding modern Ukranian society, issues connected to ecological strain, overconsumption and the destruction of architectural heritage. She is currently working with themes linked to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, on issues such as freedom, responsibility and the realisation of a person’s creative potential. She is particularly interested in cross-disciplinary projects that combine poetry and physical theatre, painting and movement, choreography and improvisation in different spaces (site-specific performance).

About Viktoriia Sliptsova
Dancer and dance pedagogue in modern dance, Kharkiv Regional Palace of Children and Youth Creativity. Viktoriia’s latest work includes choreography for several musicals such as ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ at Baza, the largest concert hall in Charkiv. Since 2010 she has been working as a pedagogue and ballet master in the national dance group “Happy Childhood” involving more than 300 participants.

2021 she founded a dance company beginning several productions in collaboration with several dancers, costume designers and composers. Due to the war the company was forced to close completely and cancel all plans.
