The History of Beatbox är en performancekoncert som tar dig med på en interaktiv sfär genom två beatboxares perspektiv från hiphopens kärna.

Feelhip och Rawclaw, mästare i SM och DM i beatbox, gör denna historiska ljudresa som lyfter fram och utforskar vokalkonst från olika kulturer, tider och dagens teknologi.

En hyllning till den djupa förbindelsen mellan människa och musik och en unik form av att lära känna sig själv.

Freestyle Phanatix är Skandinaviens största professionella breakdance-trupp och har genomfört fler än 4000 föreställningar och workshops världen över. Gruppen är ett hiphop-kollektiv med de bästa artisterna från “the old school”, ” the new school” och “the next school”. Nu turnerar den fjärde generationen artister med specialkunskaper i hiphopens konstarter. Truppens arbete är genomsyrat av budskapet om öppenhet, sammanhållning och att kunna se bortom hudfärg och bakgrund. Med en egenskap att vara synliga och imponerande i kombination med en ständigt lika stor målmedvetenhet att nå ut förbi scenkanten, har Freestyle Phanatix en förmåga att alltid få sin publik med sig, oavsett vem de uppträder för.

The History of Beatbox

How did this unique form of musical expression come into being? Is it possible to be a one-man band without physical instruments? The History of Beatbox is a performance concert that lifts you into an interactive space from the perspective of two beatboxers, from the heart of hiphop.
Feelhip and Rawclaw, national Swedish and Danish champions, create this historical journey of sound that elevates and explores vocal art from different cultures, eras and modern-day technology.
A tribute to the deep bond between man and music plus a unique way of getting to know yourself. 

Freestyle Phanatix is Scandinavia’s largest professional breakdance troupe that has given over 4000 performances and workshops over the world. The group is a hip-hop collective with top artists from “the old school”, ” new school” and “the next school”. The fourth generation of performers are now touring their specialised expertise in hip-hop as a dance and artform. The troupe’s work is permeated by its message of openness, solidarity and a determination to see beyond skin colour or background. With their knack for gaining visibility and to impress, in combination with an equally strong dedication to reach beyond the limits of a stage floor, Freestyle Phanatix has the ability to always win over their audience, no matter who they perform for.

Publikgenomdrag - En trappa till himlen

Malmö Dockteater öppnar upp sina repetitioner av En trappa till himlen. Förhoppningsvis är vi redo för ett första publikgenomdrag, om inte får ni se utdrag i föreställningen och höra teamet berätta mer om arbetet. (Urpremiär 3 april 2025).

Malmö Dockteater fyller 10 år. Det firas med en jubileumsföreställning av, med och i huvudet på teaterns grundare Erik Holmström.
Ensam på scenen lovar han att få det att kännas som en korsning mellan en Broadwaymusikal och en dröm som glider en ur händerna. Föreställningen utspelar sig parallellt i ett lite krökt rum i rymden och mitt i en teateruppsättning av Strindbergs Ett drömspel. Den utspelar sig också i en telefonkö till DHL. Och den utspelar sig i en kvark.

Låter det drömskt? Det är det. Men sen vaknar man.
10 år av dockteater för vuxna har lett fram till detta.
Att kalla det en monolog vore fel, eftersom det medverkar massor av dockor.
Det kan bli Malmö Dockteaters största hit. Se den innan den blir sönderspelad.

Open rehearsal – A Stairway to Heaven

Malmö Dockteater opens up to the public a rehearsal of En trappa till himlen. Hopefully we are ready for a first public showing, if not you will see an excerpt from the performance and hear the team talk about the work. (PREMIERE 3rd April 2025)

Malmö Dockteater is ten years old. We are celebrating with an anniversary performance created by, with and inside the head of the theatre’s founder Erik Holmström. Alone on stage, he promises to make this feel like a cross between a Broadway musical and a dream on the verge of slipping away. The action takes place in a crooked little room in space and bang in the middle of a staging of Strindberg’s A Dream Play. It all happens while waiting on hold to get through to DHL. And it takes place in a quark.
Sounds like a dream? It is. But then you wake up.

10 years of puppet theatre for adults has led to this point.

To call it a monologue would be incorrect, since there are many puppets involved.
This might be Malmö Dockteater’s greatest hit yet. See it before it gets old.

This is a co-production in collaboration with Turteatern in Stockholm

BECK – Jättemånga mord i natten

Ett brott har begåtts och kommissarie Beck och Gunvald Larsson kopplas in på fallet. Beck och Gunvald måste dyka ner i ett labyrintiskt kaninhål för att gå till botten med brottet. Jättemånga fler mord sker. Grannen dyker upp på de mest oväntade ställen. Plötsligt måste allt dubbas till tyska. Rollerna upplöses, dubbleras och glider mellan fiktion och verklighet. Beck hamnar i märkliga zoom-möten och i källaren sitter Sjöwall Wahlöö och surar.

Beck ställs inför sitt svåraste fall hittills: Vem är jag? En verklig kommissarie, en roll eller en skådespelare?

När Moomsteaterns skådespelare ombads ge förslag på pjäser de vill sätta upp svarar någon: ”Beck!” och en annan inflikar snabbt ”Jag vill spela Persbrandt!”. Därur föds idén. Inte om att sätta upp en regelrätt kriminalare eller om att ta ett filmmanus från Beck-serien. Utan om att göra en pjäs om den svenska fascinationen för just kriminalhistorier. Om fenomenet, idévärlden och arketyperna som ätit sig in i konsumenternas begreppsvärld och medvetande. Och om den suddiga gränsen mellan skådespelare och roll.

Moomsteatern gör scenkonst med normbrytande skådespelare. Vi vill att vår publik ska få en unik teaterupplevelse. Vi vill utmana människors sätt att tänka och skapa samhällsdialog. Vi vill utmana teaterbranschens sätt att resonera kring representation och vem som får ta plats på scenen.
Vi arbetar med skådespelare med och utan funktionsvariationer, på lika villkor. Den inkluderande ensemblen, skådespelare med och utan funktionsvariationer, är en hörnsten för Moomsteaterns arbete. Vi ger skådespelare med intellektuella funktionsvariationer möjlighet att fokusera på och utvecklas inom sitt yrke. Vi är fortfarande den enda teater i Sverige som tillsvidareanställer skådespelare med intellektuella funktionsnedsättningar under kollektivavtal.

Lots and lots of murders in the night

A crime has been committed. Detective Beck and Gunvald Larsson are called in to lead the investigation. They throw themselves down a labyrinthian rabbit hole to try to get to the bottom of the case. Many more murders take place. The neighbour-next-door pops up in the most unexpected of places. Suddenly everything has to be dubbed into German. Roles are switched, duplicated and the line blurs between fiction and reality.  Beck ends up in peculiar ZOOM meetings and in the basement sits Sjöwall Wahlöö brooding.
Beck is faced with his most difficult case yet. Who am I? A real detective, a fictive role or an actor?

When the Moomsteater actors were asked to give suggestions of plays they wanted to put on someone yelled “Beck!” and someone else chipped in quickly with “I want to play Persbrandt!”. And that is where the idea was born. Not to put on a regular detective story or even use a film script from the Beck TV series. But to create a play about the Swedish fascination with detective stories. The phenomenon, genre and archetypes that have eaten their way into the world definitions and consciousness of consumers. And the blurry distinction between an actor and the role they play. 

Moomsteatern creates theatre using neurodivergent actors. We aim for our audience to undergo a unique theatre experience. We wish to challenge peoples’ mindset and stimulate societal dialogue. We wish to challenge the theatre industry’s mindset when it comes to representation and who is allowed to take space on stage.
We work with actors both with and without disabilities, on equal terms. The inclusive ensemble, actors with and actors without disabilities, are a cornerstone for the work carried out by Moomsteatern. We offer actors who have an intellectual or learning disability the possibility to focus on and develop within their career. We are still the only theatre in Sweden who offer fulltime employment covered by a collective agreement to actors with intellectual disabilities.

Följ med på en rundtur på Palladium! Här berättas om husets spännande historia från 1920, då glas- och porslinsdirektören Löfberg slog upp portarna till sin Biograf- och Konsertsalong. Det var t.ex. här Carola slog igenom med ”Främling” i Melodifestivalen 1983, men även Jussi Björling, Alice Babs och Helan och Halvan har stått på scenen. Mycket av interiören finns kvar, som de imponerande kristallkronorna och takmålningarna.
Palladium nyinvigdes 2004 som ett hus för musik och dans och drivs nu av Musik i Syd i nära samarbete med Dansstationen.


Palladium Malmö är en scen för musik och dans som efter en varsam renovering återinvigdes 2004. Ursprungligen invigdes huset 1920 som biograf och har till stor del kvar sin ursprungliga interiör. De imponerande kristallkronorna, takmålningarna och historiken i väggarna ger Palladium dess speciella karaktär. Scenen ses som en av de finaste i Norra Europa för kammarmusik och dans, med sviktande dansgolv, fritt hängande tekniktross och med den fantastiska akustiken bevarad till glädje för både artister och publik.

Musik i Syd, som driver Palladium Malmö i nära samarbete med Dansstationen, är en musikinstitution i Skåne och Kronoberg med syfte att ge människor tillgång till skapande och levande musikupplevelser. Musik i Syd är en visionär och innovativ institution som presenterar och förmedlar konserter på landsbygden och i tätorten, i skolor och konsertsalar, genom stora festivaler men också i de små och intima sammanhangen. Det är ett kulturpolitiskt uppdrag och del av en aktiv kulturpolitik. På Palladium presenterar Musik i Syd ett brett kvalitativt utbud av konserter i alla genrer, där flera sker i samarbete med andra arrangörer. Join us for a tour of Palladium! Here, you’ll hear about the building’s fascinating history, dating back to 1920 when glass and porcelain manufacturer & company director Löfberg first opened the doors to his brand-new Cinema and Concert Hall. This is where Carola made her breakthrough to fame with Främling in the 1983 Melodifestivalen – the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest, and where legendary performers such as Jussi Björling, Alice Babs, Laurel & Hardy performed. Much of the interior remains intact, including the impressive crystal chandeliers and ceiling paintings.

Palladium was reopened in 2004 as a venue for music and dance and is now run by Musik i Syd in close collaboration with Dansstationen.

Palladium Malmö is a theatre for music and dance reinaugurated in 2004 after careful renovation. Originally opened in 1920 as a cinema, the venue has retained much of its original interior. The magnificent crystal chandeliers, ceiling paintings, and rich history embedded in the walls give Palladium its unique character. Musik i Syd, which operates Palladium Malmö in close collaboration with Dansstationen, is an institution when it comes to promoting music in the regions of Skåne and Kronoberg, dedicated to providing people with access to creative and live musical experience. Musik i Syd is a visionary and innovative institution that presents and facilitates concerts in both rural and urban areas, in schools and concert halls, via large festivals, but also in small and intimate settings. It fulfils a specific political cultural mission and forms part of an active political cultural policy. At Palladium, Musik i Syd offers a diverse and high-quality programme of concerts across all genres, many in collaboration with other organizers. Utvalda scener från Nearly Theatres kommande uppsättning av Inramad. Leonora är till största delen nöjd med tillvaron, med undantag för hennes makes politiska karriär, som stjäl det mesta av deras tid tillsammans. Hon gör det därför till sitt mål att sabotera hans chanser i kommunvalet, genom att sponsra en socialistisk kandidat. Samtidigt blir hennes relation till den nyss hemkomna barndomsvännen Max alltmer komplicerad. Omarbetning av Mathilda Mallings “Fru Leonora”. Premiär Juni 2025.

 

Nearly Theatre är en queerfeministisk teaterförening som huvudsakligen riktar sig till unga vuxna. Vi jobbar demokratiskt, med fokus på samarbete, empati och respekt förmedlemmarnas olika behov och förmågor. Föreningen sätter upp en produktion om året och växlar mellan svenska och engelska manus: adaptioner, omskrivningar, och nyskrivningar, allt med fokus på queerhet, feminism, och klass.

Selected scenes from Nearly Theatre’s upcoming production of Inramad  (Eng. Framed). Leonora is for the most part content with her life, except for her husband’s political career, which eats up most of their time together. So, she makes it her goal to sabotage his chances in the local election by sponsoring a socialist candidate. Meanwhile, her relationship with her recently returned childhood friend Max grows increasingly complicated.

An adaptation of Mathilda Malling’s Mrs. Leonora. Premiere in June 2025.

Nearly Theatre is a queer feminist theatre collective primarily aimed at young adults. We work democratically, focusing on collaboration, empathy, and respect for our members’ diverse needs and abilities. The collective produces one show per year, alternating between Swedish and English scripts—adaptations, rewrites, and original works—all centered on queerness, feminism, and class issues.

A Heart Act to Follow – 5 actors; a work-in-progress

Playmate invites you to our simple rehearsal space in Malmö for a glimpse of work-in-progress, as five of our regular actors try out on stage a collection of story-telling tales of love, life, some laughter and some loss. Each short piece is in English. There is a common theme of – perhaps –  love and relationships, as theatre – like life after all! – searches for answers. 

All of the pieces are fascinating stories to us, even if not quite fully polished performances as yet. We would love to have an audience as we try out these texts and see what response we get… to the sound of guitar strings, the clink of coffee cups and a touch of the unknown.

Playmate Theatre Malmö is a professional English-language theatre company in Malmö, southern Sweden, bringing small-cast, intimate, contemporary plays of relevance to Swedish and international audiences. We collaborate with invited guest directors  and at times, on joint or guest productions with other theatre companies in the region. 

In Malmö we usually perform at blackbox theatre Bastionen and when possible tour to Copenhagen and Hamburg. We aim to perform one to two strong choices of play a year, a mixture of straight dramas and dramatic comedies, by playwrights we feel are exciting and whose writing works successfully and internationally. Playmate performs in English and auditions for actors as needed.
