Mellan stolarna

Mellan Stolarna är en revy i en akt om psykisk ohälsa. Vi får ta del av verkligheten för personer som faller mellan stolarna, alltså de av oss som är precis lagom sjuka för att nästan klara vardagen. Så länge vi får bryta ihop några gånger i veckan.

Vad händer när en helt vanligt ångestklump möter den överbelastade vården? Hur ska en hantera sina återfall? Vad är egentligen panikångest och får en skatta åt sånt?

Vi leker med gränsen mellan allvar och humor för att förmedla en känsla av hopp i något som kan verka väldigt hopplös. Ångest och depression har ökat markant i hela världen och prognosen ser inte lovande ut för framtiden heller. Vi vill därför högtiderligen bjuda in dig att gråta och skratta med oss medan vi leker med tankarna vi människor brottas med dagen.

Between the Chairs is a one-act comedy about mental health. We get a glimpse into the reality of people who fall between the cracks—those of us who are just sick enough – to almost cope with living everyday life. As long as we get to break down a couple of times a week…

What happens when a perfectly ordinary bundle of anxiety meets an overburdened healthcare system? How do you handle a relapse? What actually is a panic attack—and are you allowed to poke fun at such a thing?
We operate at the boundary between seriousness and humour to convey a sense of hope about something that can seem devoid of hope. Anxiety and depression have increased significantly worldwide, and the outlook does not seem promising for the future either. Therefore, we solemnly invite you to cry and laugh together with us as we dally with the thoughts we humans struggle with every day.

Vi på Teaterscentralen vet vad som händer när människor får leka, skratta och ta plats – för vi har sett det hända i många, många år. Vår prova-på-teaterworkshop pågår under ca 45 min och är just som det låter. har genomförts gång på gång med nöjda, modigare och gladare deltagare som gått hem med rosiga kinder, träningsvärk i skrattmusklerna och med mersmak. Det är precis den energin vi arbetar med – den där känslan av att få släppa taget, vara i nuet och upptäcka nya sidor av sig själv tillsammans med andra.

Inga krav, bara möjligheter. Vi jobbar generationsövergripande, i ett tryggt och avslappnat tempo där skratt, lekfullhet och mod går hand i hand. Du får utforska kroppsspråk, röst, fantasi och improvisation i ett rasande tempo – utan prestige, men med massor av lust.

Vi tar emot max 15 deltagare för att skapa en varm och personlig atmosfär där alla blir sedda.

Välkommen till skrattet, leken och teaterglädjen – vi lovar att du inte kommer ångra dig. 🎭✨

Vilka är vi?

Teaterscentralen bildades 1999 och skapar bl a föreställningar och kurser. Vi är ett teaternätverk och idag är vi ca 100 medlemmar. Teaterscentralen har funnits sedan 1994 och 2024 firar vi vårt 30 års jubileum med pompa och ståt!

Redan från start formulerade vi en vision om Teaterscentralen som ett forum för nätverk, forskande och utvecklande av scenkonst, där vi arbetar med både unga och vuxna, amatörer och proffs. Vi tror på det generationsövergripande där vi lär av varandra.

Vi älskar scenkonst som upplevelse och metod. Punkt slut.

At Teaterscentralen, we know what happens when people get to play, laugh, and take the stage—we’ve seen it happen for many, many years. Our 45-minute try-out-theatre workshop is exactly what it sounds like. It has been held time and time again with satisfied, braver and happier participants who leave with rosy cheeks, aching from laughter, and a desire for more.

That’s the energy we work with—the feeling of letting go, being present and discovering new sides of yourself together with others. No pressure, only possibilities. We work across generations in a safe and relaxed pace where laughter, playfulness, and courage go hand in hand. You will explore body language, voice, imagination, and improvisation— no need to impress, just masses of joy.

We accept a maximum of 15 participants in order to create a warm and personal atmosphere where everyone can be seen and heard.

Welcome to laughter, play, and the joy of theatre—we promise you won’t regret it!

Who are we?
Teaterscentralen was founded in 1999 and creates performances and courses. We are a theatre network with around 100 members. Teaterscentralen has existed since 1994, and in 2024 we celebrated our 30th anniversary with great fanfare. From the very beginning, we envisioned Teaterscentralen as a forum for networking, researching, and developing performing arts, working with both young people and adults, amateurs and professionals. We believe in intergenerational exchange—learning from one another.
We love performing arts as both experience and method. Full stop.

PLAYREADING OF The Woods

We are so habituated to naturalistic drama, where what you see is what you get, that it takes a little while to get your bearings in a play that is not an objective, but a subjective account of reality. Despite all the clues—no snow, the Woman’s clothes, threatening trees—minutes pass before we realize that this is no ordinary story. Instead, it’s a metaphor-rich reading of a psychological situation, an ambient account of motherhood, love, abandonment, maybe on the brink of mental collapse. We see a woman who wants to care, with what can only be described as tough love, for a foundling child while standing up, more or less, to an enraged son? – a wolf in wolf’s clothing. We root for her. But who is who? In this symbolic fable, which like a child’s story nods to Little Red Riding Hood and like a Greek tragedy to Medea, a powerful image of unwilling motherhood imprints itself on our minds.

In this world of fractured memory and psychological pain, there are few safe places. And, when you find them, they are only temporary.

Theatre In-Balance is a multilingual theatre company based in Malmö, Sweden, built upon the challenge of gender balance within the performing arts, adapting and re-working techniques from the worlds of mask, puppetry, object theatre through the ©In Balance Method, created by Mariana Araoz. Founded in 2016, in Sweden, Theatre In-Balance also works in collaboration with theatre company Collectif Masque, based at La Maison de l’Équilibre du Genre in Paris.

Mariana Araoz runs her French theater company Collectif Masque in Paris also as in Sweden, based on a mask and puppet technique built on a gender-balance/gender fluid perspective and pro-ecology vision and world view. Mariana is Theatre In-Balance’s Artistic Director as well as permanent professor of theatre & mask at Teaterhögskolan Malmö (Lund University) since 2013. Mariana teaches drama and movement and her unique ©In-Balance method at some of the world’s leading theatre schools, including Teaterhögskolan Malmö, Paris National Conservatory and Ecole du Jeu Paris, Saint Olaf College in Minneapolis, Columbia University in New York, Boris Shchukin’s Institut in Moscow, and Hong Kong Theatre Academy as well as Khio, Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo, Norway. In 2025, Theatre In-Balance opened the In-Balance Incubator and Institute in Malmö/Lund for outreach, professional training in the In-Balance Method and open masterclasses.

Den magiska bibliotekarien

På det lilla biblioteket jobbar Bibi som har hemliga, magiska krafter. Idag är det hennes födelsedag men hon och hennes läshund jobbar som vanligt. Det dyker upp tre olika besökare med specifika önskemål och Bibis magi kommer till nytta. Besökarna välkomnas till en förtrollande rolig stund bland bokstäver, ord, fantasi och drömmar. Efter detta sällsynta möte kan de tre besökarna till slut låna hem varsin bok – perfekt matchad för just dem. När Bibi ska gå hem efter arbetsdagen blir hon lite ledsen när hon tänker på att det kommer bli en ensam födelsedagskväll. Men då knackar det plötsligt på bibliotekets dörr…

DEN MAGISKA BIBLIOTEKARIEN är en rolig, interaktiv och lärorik teaterföreställning med sång och musik. Den väcker nyfikenhet inför läsning och hyllar bibliotek och dess personal som kan guida i böckernas magiska värld.

Vilka är vi?

Matilda och Magnus Ericsson driver sedan 1999 Lilla Vilda Teatern, en turnerande musikteater som till största delen spelar för barn. Teatern besöker bibliotek, förskolor, skolor, kulturhus, teatrar, festivaler, kyrkor, parker m.m. och spelar ca 150 föreställningar per år. Lilla Vilda Teaterns drivkraft är ett engagemang för att ta hand om varandra och vår värld. Detta är utgångspunkten i alla föreställningar och spelformen bygger på delaktighet genom gestaltning och musik. Föreställningarna skapas och spelas av Matilda och Magnus Ericsson och ibland ingår även andra skådespelare och artister i produktionerna.

THE MAGICAL LIBRARIAN

Bibi works at a small library and has secret magical powers. Today is her birthday, she and her reading dog are working as usual. Then three different visitors arrive, each carrying with them a specific wish and suddenly Bibi’s magic comes in handy. The visitors are drawn into an escapade of enchanting fun, surrounded by letters, words, imagination and dreams. It is a unique encounter, and finally the three visitors get to borrow one book each—perfectly matched just for them. When Bibi is about to go home after work, she feels a little sad thinking it will be a lonely birthday evening. But then suddenly there’s a knock on the library door…

THE MAGICAL LIBRARIAN is a fun, interactive, and educational theatre performance using song and music. It sparks curiosity about reading and celebrates libraries and their staff, who guide us into the magical world of books.

Who are we?
Teatercentrum is the collaboration, advocacy, and information organization for Sweden’s independent professional theatres. It currently represents over 100 independent theatres that perform more than 10,000 shows for over 700,000 people every year. Bird Talk - a message for humanity + discussion

In the Puerto Rican forest lies a huge radio telescope, designed to seek out and communicate with intelligent life across the universe. Paradoxically, the astronomers’ nearest neighbours are the few surviving members of a highly intelligent, but life-threatened, species of parrot. Aren’t they exactly what the scientists are looking for?

Hear the spellbinding speech from a feathered friend we have long overlooked! Written by the widely acclaimed author Ted Chiang, and published under the title The Great Silence, the parrot’s words compel us to reconsider our role as neighbours: to other humans, and to other living creatures on the planet we share in the “disconcertingly quiet” universe.

Who are we?

Playmate består av skådespelaren Kevin Benn, en engelsman som bott I Sverige sedan 1967. Han var medlem i den fria gruppen Teater 23 sedan starten 1975 till 1997. Sedan 2015 har turnerat under egen flagga – Playmate – med Teater 23s originaluppsättning av Nasse hittar en stol, och nu presenterar han även föreställningen BIRD TALK – a message to humanity.

Who are we?

Actor Kevin Benn is an Englishman who has lived in Sweden since 1967. He was a member of the independent group Teater 23 from its founding in 1975 until 1997. Since 2015, he has toured under his own banner—Playmate—with a solo show that was once Teater 23’s original production of Nasse Hittar En Stol, and now he presents his monologue performance BIRD TALK – a message to humanity.
*Kevin Benn is also a founding member of Playmate Theatre Malmö (since 2017) which for Malmö Scenfest is performing a staged reading THE WOODS at 5 pm also at Mazettisalen, just after Kevin’s monologue, a reading in collaboration with Theatre In-Balance.

Teater à la carte

Alla har tuggat ord. Men har du någonsin beställt ett manus från en meny?

På TEATER À LA CARTE beställer ni det som borde ha funnits på restauranger ända sedan restauranger uppfanns: manus. Välj mellan förrätter, huvudrätter och efterrätter, och få rykande färska dramer – och någon enstaka vällagrad goding – serverade direkt till bordet.

I små grupper läser ni dem högt tillsammans. Ingen vet exakt hur måltiden kommer att utveckla sig förrän den är över – förutsatt att ni lyssnar noga på varandra. Var och en får bara sina egna repliker, plus de två sista orden ur föregående replik för att hitta rätt in i scenen.

Med andra ord: det är ni som ger föreställningen kropp.

Utöver salt och peppar kryddas den med blickar, lösmustascher, tvekan, solglasögon och lustiga hattar. Här får teatern smak, rytm och nerv – och ni blir både publik, ensemble och medskapare på samma gång.

I Malmö har det sagts att matkonsten blivit hetare än scenkonsten. TEATER À LA CARTE tar den tanken på blodigt allvar. Här kliver teatern ner från scenen och upp på bordet – inte för att bli snällare, utan för att bli ännu mer oemotståndlig.

Det här är ingen föreställning där du lutar dig tillbaka och konsumerar. Här blir manus till måltider där smak, ansvar, risk och fantasi delas, förhandlas och avnjuts tillsammans. Det sociala är huvudkryddan. Vågar du beställa en huvudrätt märkt med tre chilifrukter?

Teater Troligt / Verisimile är en nystartad, tvärdisciplinär janusgrupp med bakgrund inom komposition, lingvistik, skådespeleri, journalistik, dramatik, systemvetenskap och marinbiologi. Vi arbetar lekfullt, experimentellt och publiknära. Precis som guden Janus har två ansikten och Dr Jekyll har Mr Hyde, tycker vi att en teatergrupp ska få ha mer än en sida.

THEATRE À LA CARTE

Everyone has devoured words. But have you ever ordered a script from a menu?

At THEATRE À LA CARTE, you order what restaurants should have been serving all along: plays. Choose from starters, main courses, and desserts, and be served steaming new dramas — plus the occasional well-aged delicacy. In small groups, you and your fellow guests read them aloud together. No one knows exactly how the meal will unfold until it is over — as long as you listen closely to one another. Each person receives only their own lines, along with the last two words of the previous cue to keep the scene alive.

In other words: the performance is brought to life by you.

Seasoned not only with salt and pepper, but with glances, fake moustaches, hesitation, sunglasses, and absurd hats, this is theatre you can taste, shape, and share.

In Malmö, some say the culinary arts have become hotter than the performing arts. THEATRE À LA CARTE takes that claim at face value. Here, theatre steps down from the stage and onto the table — not to become gentler, but to become even more irresistible.

This is no passive sit-back-and-watch experience. Here, scripts become meals in which taste, responsibility, risk, and imagination are shared, negotiated, and enjoyed together. The social is the secret ingredient. Would you dare order a main course marked with three chili peppers?

Who are we?

Teater Troligt / Verisimile is a newly formed interdisciplinary Janus-group, with backgrounds in composition, linguistics, acting, journalism, playwriting, information systems, and marine biology. We create playful, experimental, audience-centred work. Just as the god Janus has two faces, and Dr Jekyll has Mr Hyde, we believe a theatre company should be allowed more than one side.

Bananmanual – en performance

Bananmanual är en performanceföreställning av Teater ONT som utgår från människans predikament och kanske världens första skämt: att halka på ett bananskal. Föreställningen bygger på en nyskriven bok med samma namn, som Teater ONT passar på att fira på Malmö Scenfest. Genom bananskämtets lins tecknas människan, historien och samtiden. Frågor vi ställer oss: vad är egentligen människans lott? Vad är det för samhälle vi skapat åt oss själva? Och vad är humor? Varför är det här så förbannat skoj?

Vilka är vi?

Teater ONT är en performancegrupp som består av Niklas Åkesson och Per Alvsten. Vår performancekonst är narrativ, koreografisk och interaktiv. I mötet mellan scenrummets diskurs och åskådarens egen diskurs finns en enorm potential; det är här som olika former av över-och underordning, marginalisering och hierarkier blir synliga. Våra performances arbetar i spänningsfältet mellan det litterära och textbaserade å ena sidan, och det fysisk-materialiserade å den andra. Vi är inspirerade av dada-rörelsens självpåtagna frihet i förhållande till konsten och samhällets normativa förväntningar; vi har inget emot att beskriva oss själva som konstnärligt eklektiska. Vi har varit verksamma i 20 år och drev 2009-11 Klubb ONT på Hedmanska Gården vid Lilla torg i Malmö, och 2015 på Skånes Konstförening. Till klubb ONT bjöd vi in en mängd musiker, scenkonstnärer och poeter och genomförde själva ett tjugotal performanceakter. Under senare år, från 2016 och framåt, har Teater ONT vid sidan om performances ägnat sig åt filmmediet och undersökt fältet mellan satirisk och politisk film, bl a genom ett antal uppmärksammade filmserier och kampanjer på sociala medier.

Banana Manual

Banana Manual is a performance piece by Teater ONT built upon exploring the human predicament and built around perhaps the world’s first joke: slipping on a banana skin. The performance is based on a newly written book of the same name, which Teater ONT takes the opportunity to celebrate during Malmö Scenfest. Through this lens of the’ banana joke’, humanity, history and contemporary society are held up to the spotlight.

Questions we ask ourselves: what after all is the fate of humanity? What kind of society have we created for ourselves? And what is humour? What is so darn funny about this?

Who are we?
Teater ONT is a performance group consisting of Niklas Åkesson and Per Alvsten. Our performance art is narrative, choreographic, interactive. At the intersection between discourse of the stage and the spectator’s own discourse, lies enormous potential—this is where hierarchies, marginalization, structures of power become visible. Our performances operate in the tension span lying between the literary and text-based on one hand, and that which is physical/ materialized on the other.

We are inspired by the Dada movement’s self-proclaimed freedom in relation to art and society’s normative expectations; we have no objection to describing ourselves as artistically eclectic. We have been active for 20 years and ran Club ONT at Hedmanska Gården in Malmö (2009–11) and at Skånes Konstförening (2015). In recent years, we have also worked with film, exploring the area that lies between satire and political film through various acclaimed film series and social media campaigns.

Sam ställs mot sina klasskamrater när en osäker sanning växer till övertygelse. I takt med andras påtryckningar förändras Sam. Har Sam blivit utbytt mot en kopia, en replika? Föreställningen handlar om grupptryck, vad det innebär att vara människa och sanningens skiftande natur.

Vilka är vi?

Sedan 2009 har Teater Aros verkat som en ideell förening i mötet mellan scenkonst, språk och samhälle. Genom föreställningar och pedagogiskt arbete skapas rum för delaktighet och uttryck för barn, unga och vuxna. Föreställningen Replika spelas av vår ungdomsensemble och deltar i LÄNK 2026 (Riksteatern).

Sam is pitted against classmates as an uncertain truth grows into conviction. Under pressure from others, Sam begins to change. Has Sam been replaced by a copy—a replica?

The performance is all about peer pressure, what it means to be human and the shifting nature of truth.

Who are we?
Since 2009, Teater Aros has been running as a non-profit association at the intersection of the performing arts, language and society. Through performances and pedagogy, we create space which allows people to get involved and to allow expression on the part of children, young people and adults. The production Replica is performed by our youth ensemble and forms part of LÄNK 2026 (Riksteatern).

Kan vi lära oss av bina?

I bisamhället är drottningen mamma till alla andra bin. Genom doftämnen styr hon livet i kupan, där arbetsbina tillverkar honung, städar och vaktar. De kommunicerar genom att dansa: Var finns det nektar och pollen? Åt vilket håll hittar jag vatten? Rörelserna berättar.

Alla arbetar tillsammans, för bisamhällets bästa. Och hur är det med oss? Vi människor?

Dansföreställningen Honey Honey kliver ner i insekternas mikrovärld. Med nykomponerad musik och inspiration från svärmar, drönare och bi-danser riktar den in sig på oss människor och det samhälle vi skapar. Hur behandlar och kommunicerar vi med varandra? Kan vi i naturens värld hitta en respekt för det lilla väsendet och dess betydelse för hela ekosystemet?

Fri entré, men biljett krävs. Biljetter hämtas ut i dansteaterns biljettkassa innan föreställningen, först till kvarn gäller. Biljettkassan öppnar 13:30, i samband med workshopen.

Prova att dansa koreografin i föreställningen. En 30-minuters dansworkshop för alla där du lära dig mer om metoderna som dansarna och koreografen använt i skapandet av föreställningen.

Can we learn from bees?

In a bee colony, the queen is the mother of all bees. Through pheromones, she governs life in the hive, where worker bees produce honey, clean and guard. They communicate by dancing: Where is the nectar and pollen? Which direction leads to water? Movements tell the story.
Everyone works together for the good of the hive. And what about us? We humans?

Dance performance Honey Honey dives into the micro-world of insects. With newly composed music and inspiration taken from swarms, drones and bee dances, attention is turned towards humans and the society we create. How do we treat and communicate with one another? Can we find, in the natural world, respect for the small creatures and their importance to the entire ecosystem?

Try the dance
Try dancing yourself using the choreography from the performance. A 30-minute workshop open to all, where you learn more about the methods used by the dancers and choreographer in creating the piece.

Sångkafé med Simply Opera på Malmö Scenfest!

Vi bjuder på klassisk sång från operans, operettens, musikalens och visornas världar med lite kulturell guidning och vi kommer att erbjuda fika med hembakat för en billig penning för de som så önskar.

Vilka är vi?

Simply Opera är en amatöroperaförening som vill framföra

rolig och enkel opera, som kan tilltala alla – även för de ovana!

1988 bildade operasångaren Christian Fürst Myrup föreningen Opera Semplice i Malmö.

Här kunde alla få möjlighet att pröva på att sjunga opera och såväl glada amatörer som sång-och musikstuderande deltog i föreningens uppsättningar. Vid Christians frånfälle 1998 ombildades föreningen och fortsatte under ett annat namn, Simply Opera.

Under namnet Simply Opera har vi gjort ett antal uppsättningar med målsättningen att framföra rolig och enkel opera som kan tilltala en bred publik som t.ex. Mozart-Salieri: ”Så fröken vill in vid teatern?”, Schubert: ”De sammansvurna”, Gilbert and Sullivan: ”Mikadon”, Okonkovski-Gilbert: ”Kyska Susanna”, Mozart: ”Cosi fan Tutte” och ett flertal Opera Caféer.

Under de senaste åren har föreningens verksamhet inriktat sig på konsertframträdanden i form av Opera Caféer med folkbildningskaraktär där vi blandar klassisk sång och allmänbildande presentationer med hembakad och kaffe.

Song Café with Simply Opera at Malmö Scenfest!

We offer classical singing from the worlds of opera, operetta, musicals, and ballads, with a touch of cultural guidance. We will also offer homemade fika at a modest price for those who wish.

Who are we?
Simply Opera is an amateur opera association that aims to perform fun and accessible opera that appeals to everyone—even beginners!

In 1988, opera singer Christian Fürst Myrup founded Opera Semplice in Malmö. Here, anyone had the opportunity to try singing opera, and both enthusiastic amateurs and music students participated in the productions. After Christian’s passing in 1998, the association was reorganized and continued under a new name: Simply Opera.

Under the name Simply Opera, we have staged several productions with the aim of presenting fun and accessible opera for a broad audience, such as Mozart-Salieri: “So, Miss, You Want to Join the Theatre?”, Schubert: “The Conspirators”, Gilbert and Sullivan: “The Mikado”, Okonkovski-Gilbert: “Chaste Susanna”, Mozart: “Così fan tutte”, and several Opera Cafés.

In recent years, the association has focused on concert performances in the form of Opera Cafés with an educational approach, combining classical singing with informative presentations, homemade baked goods, and coffee.
